Shopping up a storm

After being told by my boss that I have to come in to work (essentially cancelling my leave) I was really peeved.

So how does one deal with anger over the festive season?
Shopping!

I have seen the nicest things in the shops & I have shut my cautious side up with a menacing inward snarl & bought things I have wanted for a while now, but not exactly needed, ie: a new kettle.
I bought a cheapie a good 10 years ago because I had to move out of my fiance's house and needed something in a hurry - the darn thing has lasted all this time!
So I bought a cute little kettle that reminds me of the old kettle my mom had when I was a little girl:

Then while buying wrapping paper I came across a really cute cutting board that was pink with words and cupcakes printed on it. I had to have it!

My kitchen colours are actually red, so I bought all the matching accessories and suddenly my kitchen is pink.

It ties in very nicely as my lounge is pink & purple and because everything is open plan, it works well.

This is the new decor I bought for my walls a little while ago - they stick on with wallpaper glue and when you wet them they slide off again.

I have completed most of my Christmas shopping, and I am off to find a present for my mom (a bead charm for her Pandora bracelet) & a wedding photo frame for my brother & new sister (for their first wedding photo)

We recently had our year end function at work and the theme was Grammy Stars.

A group of us ladies dressed up as The Spice Girls.
I have a new appreciation for performers who have to wear wigs, damn they are uncomfortable!!

We had a blast though & if I weren't one of the organisers I reckon we would have stood a good chance of winning a prize!

I posted about this group the other day & since then I am discovering more and more reasons to love their music.
And by now I am sure you have figured out something about me:
If I love something, I am obsessed.

This is the case with One Direction.

They're a decent bunch of guys, and they are pretty darn cute too.
Liam Payne is my absolute favourite, his smile is just too cute (and he only has 1 kidney) so that already makes him unique.
If the cynics out there will look past his boy band good looks and listen to the quality of his voice, you will see what I mean.
Deep, rich and super sexy.

Their latest release off their new album is called One Thing, and below is the acoustic performance of this song.

After watching this, you cannot tell me these boys don't have a future in the music world!

All I Want for Christmas

Love. Laughter. Happiness. Togetherness

Last year for me Christmas was about spoiling the ones I love.

After 2011 being a tough year for all of us, I will be buying my friends & family gifts that they need.

It seems senseless to waste money on frivolous, unneeded items when there are necessities that will still need to be bought.

When asked what I would like for Christmas I was at a loss at first, then I looked around and realised I need alot of things: PJs, new bath towels, another chair in my lounge. I have made it my goal to buy myself a chair for the lounge as well as a chandelier (my one extravagance) I have asked for vouchers towards the other necessities and I think my friends feel the same as I do - Needs not Wastage

I am hoping that once I start wrapping the gifts that I will get more into the Christmas spirit.

For some reason this year I am not feeling it like I usually do.

I am like a little kid at Christmas time and I love wrapping presents, and putting up decorations etc. I am ashamed to say that we are already on the 10th and I have not even put up a Christmas Tree (I am always that person that gives speeches to the people who don't have the Christmas spirit)

I am off to brave the busy shopping centres now and let's hope that I get everything I want so that I don't have to do it next weekend again!

Tonight I have my friends over to act as a guinea pig to my cooking, it's been so long I am getting rusty.

...has it's perks.

I can make plans with my friends at the drop of a hat and not worry about dinner
I can flirt with the cute guy & if I want to, I can kiss him in wildly in public & take him home & make memories that will live with me forever. (actually I wish this happened more often)
I can eat cereal for dinner if I feel like it
I can sleep late and wake when i want to
I can spend all evening on my PC if I like
I can give my 2 cats my undivided attention
I can stick pretty butterfly stickers on my wall

All this is great - yet I have to admit that it seems to be getting a bit old. Probably because I do not have as much of Point 2 as I would like to.

So having MC here for the wedding was a peak into what married life would be like:

Wake up in the morning and while one makes the coffee, the other makes the bed.
Drive to work and chat about plans for that night and dinner.
Spend time in the kitchen having tickle fights while dinner is being cooked and then afterwards sitting outside on the patio with a glass of wine chatting about all sorts of things while giving the cats love.

MC is a quiet guy, but he has something about him that make people love him instantly.

Since he left, my work colleagues have not stopped talking about him & want him to come to our christmas party on Saturday and then want me to make him stay, even the tea-lady thinks he is nice and should be my husband. My sister-in-law wants me to marry him.

The minute I load it as my Facebook profile pic, a friend writes and wants to know about him

A stranger from school whom I have had no contact with for years, sees his photo and says I must find a man and why not him.

I would tend to agree where it not for our very strange past. MC and I hit it off since the very beginning & yet we have never managed to quite start a proper relationship or even a proper fling.

He drove the hormones nuts every single day he was here, yet it never felt like it was right to make a move on him.

MC remained an absolute gentleman, even when my bathtowel slipped and he almost got an eyeful of fat backside (courtesy of my absence from the gym for the past 6 weeks)

I would love to make a proper go of it, but I don't want a long distance relationship, so perhaps it is just not right to start anything that we will just hurt us both.

For all I know, he feels nothing for me anyway and then this whole post is just a story about 1 sided attraction.

That would just be ~~embarrassing~~ wrong!

Breaking Dawn Part 1

Went to see this movie last night & I LOVED it.

Kristen Stewart overall showed more emotion (I have never liked her as Bella) and she actually looked really pretty at the wedding.

Edward smiles alot and that makes him sexier.
Jacob only takes his shirt off once and right in the beginning of the movie, so don't blink or you might miss it.

Without giving anything away if you haven't seen it, I think this was my favourite movie regardless of the fact that I see nothing of Jacob topless! :-p

I adored the wedding scene and I loved the track playing in the background: Flightless Bird, Iron & Wine first played in Twilight

Jacob dancing with Bella and smelling her shoulder as if he just wanted to kiss her - I adore him and I am definitely Team Jacob all the way

Kristen Stewarts "emotion" as she walked up the isle could have done with some work, she looked a bit like she was trying to pretend to cry.
There is a montage of Bella's life and it shows quick scenes through the other movies, that was a nice trip down memory lane

Bye Bye Thailand (and the end of these holiday posts)

Our final dinner in Aonang was at a restaurant overlooking the sea. Thanks to some well-placed fans, we managed not to melt completely. I sat next to a couple that I hadn't really gotten to know and spent sometime getting to know them.
Phil is a personal trainer and as a result has some nice biceps going on. The one elephant guide had felt his arms and said, "Nice strong muscles. Mmmhh you have strong cock too!" that same guide asked one of the girls if she was a 'She-lady". Ah boy we had a good laugh!

After dinner the group went out to get completely smashed and Tee and I did what we do best... Shopping. Truth be told we actually went shopping for another bag as we had no more space left for our copious number of purchases. And to think I went to Thailand expecting to buy a small gift for the people who helped me tremendously in getting ready for this trip and in the end I went crazy. My mom is going to get spoiled but she us always so much fun to buy presents for.

The next morning was a late start for all of us and after packing we spent a bit of time by the pool before heading back to Patong beach.

After a brief goodbye to the people we liked, we took a slow, heavily laden walk to our next hotel. Eventually the weight of our bags forced us to get a Tuk Tuk. Good thing as it turns out that we were going the wrong way! Yikes!

We were going to spend our last evening having dinner on the beach at the same place we had enjoyed our first dinner. However, my body had other plans and I ended up spending dinner time vomitting in the bathroom. It wasn't from anything I ate or drank so it could have been a bug. I'm still feeling drained and my stomach is sensitive now.

I had wanted to spent the last morning lounging on the beach and working on my tan. Thanks to my SPF20 it doesn't look like much. Instead I spent it in bed and I managed some last minute shopping before the heat got the better of me.

And here we are sitting at Starbucks (who have been our saving grace in the land that does not have any decent coffee) AND they have free wi-fi.

We have a 3 hour wait for our next flight. Then 10 hours later it's back to the real world. I don't even want to contemplate all the work that is waiting for me!

I adored Thailand. The beauty exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend a visit to all of you. I loved bartering over prices, I loved meeting the friendly stall workers, I loved exploring the beauty of a foreign land and getting to know a foreign culture. I love that prawns a pineapples are staple foods.

I should have bought this shirt - it should have been written in Thai!

Saying all that- I don't think I will will be eating any rice or prawns for a while. I'm looking forward to a nice juicy steak and a good glass (or bottle) of red wine.

I look forward to constant BBM and FB on my Blackberry without having to rely on wi-fi and I look forward to seeing my babies again. I have missed my fluff balls terribly!

Phi Phi to Aonang

The massage on Phi Phi was amazing. Slathered in coconut oil the ladies really got to work on all our sore muscles. Let me tell you- this is not relaxing if you have tense muscles, but you do feel good afterwards!

Tee had an afternoon nap and I made my way to the beach. I read my book, enjoyed a swim and just relaxed. It was the perfect alone time.

We then went shopping when it had cooled down somewhat and If the stalls had had more western sizes, I would have bought more things!

We stopped at a Sports Bar and had some real western food, it was great!!

We had to check out the next morning, but were only boarding the ferry at 3, so we made the most of our air-conditioned room, found a pizza joint on the beach with free WiFi and then made our way to the ferry

At least this time it was airconditioned!

I have not started on my Novel for November Novel Writing Month, so I put a good hour or so into beginning it. I have to finish this challenge, it would be really fun!

Our hotel in Aonang is amazing. The island is pristine, the people are super friendly and their english is very good. Prices also seem to be higher here.

We enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant and then made our way to the pharmacy for Aloe Vera oil for me and a McFlurry for Tee.

Oh and I bought myself a pair of nailclippers! I had left mine behind an my nails have been irritating me! I even had a dream about nailclippers! :-p

This morning we were up early for our elephant trek through the jungle. The asian elephants are a lot smaller than the African elephants, but nevertheless, these gentle giants are still daunting when you stand next to them.

We went for a leisurely walk through the jungle. Our bare feet rested on their backs and it was an amazing experience to feel the thick skin and hair under our feet. We got a chance to pose sitting on her neck and I really hope that these animals are treated well. A few trainers seem to be a bit harsh and you can see a few marks on their skin from the bullhook, but I sincerely hope they were superficial. Our trainer said he did not use the hook and it was only there for emergency. He seemed to really love the elephant though. But unfortunately he only works there, doesn't own them.

We came back to our hotel and had another sleep. It is incredible how the heat drains a person!

We are off to do some shopping in a bit and then all meeting for our final dinner tonight

There are some good people in our group, but then there are some really loud, obnoxious people. We try to avoid them!

Right, I have shopping to do, so I will say cheerio for now!!

Paradise that is....

... .....Phi Phi Islands

After an extremely long wait on a stuffy boat, we eventually arrived on the Phi Phi Islands on Monday. A walk through the town to get to our hotel was a fun way to see the area and see what was up for sale.

The islanders are not as friendly as on Phuket, but at the same time also not as insistent at trying to get you to buy something.

I finally got to see a gorgeous wood carving for the wall and I really want it, but I am not sure whether we will be allowed to take it back into the country.
Arriving at our hotel- The Bay Resort - we were awestruck. Literally on the beach. The sea sand leads right up to the stairs of reception to check in. Our room is on the 1st row and as I type this I am lying on my bed looking out at the tree covered mountains and the gorgeous sea with the little wooden boats sailing by. The water is sparkling turquoise that leads into a dark blue. Oh my goodness, we have arrived in paradise!

We can swim on this private beach whenever we want to,we just have to roll down the hill!

Our first night we had a group dinner buffet style at the hotel overlooking the water.

I never thought I would say this, but I am getting a bit tired of the rice and curries and prawns (yes I have eaten prawns almost every day!) I have been craving some pizza!

Afterwards we visited a place called Hippie Bar and watched the Firedancers perform their magic. Its a great show to watch. The bartender also gave me a free Mojito- score! :-)

Yesterday we took a boat tour out to all the islands. The speed boat collected us on the beach and off we went. With stops at Maya Bay (the famous beach in the movie The Beach) and Monkey Island (where people can feed the monkeys) Bamboo Island (no bamboo in sight) and also Viking Island, we got to swim in each areas seas and watch the little yellow and black fish devour slices of bread. These fishes are not scared of you and swim literally 3cm in front of you.

The scenery surrounding us while swimming was breathtaking as the magnificent rock faces rose majestically out of the water around us.

You could feel their presence as they watched over us and marvelled at all they have silently seen before us.

Do not diss our hats - they saved many a sunburnt nose!

Exhausted at the end of the day, we nibbled on fresh pineapple and watermelon pieces as we were dropped back on our beach. A few hours to recover and find ourselves a white tshirt and we joined the group for a western style dinner. After some huge pitchers of cocktails (Tee and I shared the Sexy Beach) and Towers (literally) of beer, we began writing and painting all over each other. The things that came out were hilarious:-

Fan: - Mandatory in the heat of Thailand

We paged through a tattoo book and I was so tempted to get a little chinese sign (Love) on my hip. I've been wanting to do it forever and to get it in Thailand would be awesome!

We made our way to another bar called Slinkys and watched an even more spectacular Firedancing show. Around midnight we made our way home and showered and fell into bed. Exhausted!

Today is a go slow day. We dragged ourselves out of bed to quickly get breakfast and now we are relaxing. We will be going for a massage just now - I would like the coconut massage- and then some bits of shopping and then lounging on the beach to try get a tan.

I have been slathering on the 20SPF sunscreen and as a result I am not tanning. As you put it on, you have a swim then you re-apply and so it repeats! Its just too hot to lie still for long enough to get a tan!

Bond, James Bond & Simon.... Cabaret that is

After an on-time wake up (with me stressing the whole night about oversleeping that I got no rest) we finally boarded our speedboat, led by a very enthusiastic guide- Nush - we were on our way!

Zooming over the water and watching the clusters of islands go by and thinking to myself: we are finally in Thailand, now it feels real!

We had so many photo opportunities that I filled up my memory card!

We stopped for lunch on some floating restaurants and did a bit of shopping (I thought there would be better shopping later, but there wasn't) and I wish I had bought more!

We docked at THE James Bond Island used in the Roger Moore: Man with a Golden Gun.

The rock jutting out of the water is enough to make us camera-weilding tourists turn into a group of rabid dogs frothing at the mouth as we all eagerly try for our 5 seconds to pose for a photo to capture the memory!

Later on to Naka beach where we got to swim and laze a bit on the beach and our picturesque day was complete!

One damper for the day: Tee got a fish bone caught in her throat, which was not fun at all, she finally only managed to dislodge it when we got home and all seems to well in paradise again.

In the evening we watched a show called Simons Cabaret. I've never seen such gorgeous costumes and stage sets! All the performers are men, turned ladies. You can't help but marvel at their beauty.

Apart from 2 of them (one had a man's legs and the other had a very muscular bum) the rest were so ladylike and poised, you found yourself forgetting that they were once men!

The choreography was a bit off, but the show is definitely worth seeing. Photos were prohibited, so I unfortunately have nothing to show but my memories.

So far I have noticed a huge difference between the Thai and Malay people: the Malay people are for the most part (taxi drivers excluded) a very calm and peaceful nation, the ladies are true ladies. The Thai people are very coarse, very loud people.

Having said that- I love that the life in Phuket seems to be so laid back and simple.

We are on to Phi Phi tomorrow and we will see what that has in store for us.

Somewhere in between all these tours, I still need to catch a tan!

The tour that wasn't

We overslept. Again

As a result we missed the bus to our meeting place for our first scheduled tour to James Bond Island. Bye bye 1500baht!

I'm disappointed in our tourguide as we missed them by 5 minutes, he didn't leave any instructions on where to meet them and his phone was off. What the hell?

In the end Tee and I decided to spend a day on Patong beach.

With almost everything to buy on the beach- we didn't have to move off our seats

A bit later a group of guys started playing soccer. Shirtless and muscled- suddenly the heat wasn't only from the sun!

Tee went for a swim a bit later and the guy I'd had my eye on came and chatted to me. I'd been teasing Tharien that I'd happily rub sunblock on when somehow he asked about it and asked if I had any. Seriously? Could the day get any better?

Chatting to Tommy, he is a 22 year old final International Business Student in Malaysia, but originally from Indonesia.

Tanned, charming and intelligent with super long eyelashes. I was itching to run my fingers over that muscled chest and tummy of his, but I had to settle for his arms and the side of his torso.

I made my first barter sale by haggling on a pretty pink beach cover top. I got the price down from 850Baht to 530Baht.

You'll notice in all these and upcoming photos - I am not one of those glamourous bach girls. I have straggly hair and I sweat in humidity - so i do not wear make up, I warned you!

Thank goodness for that top and my sunblock. I have a nasty red sunburn, but considering we were in the water for about an hour and under the umbrella for about 4 hours. I can't say its too bad.

The lesson I did learn: listen when they say to leave 30 minutes before going into the water once having applied sunblock!

I can even see the spot where I rubbed lotion on my leg and scratched it soon after- I have the sunburn in the pattern of the nail marks- hilarious!

We finally got our first Thai massage today. If I thought it would be relaxing- I was soon relieved of that notion!!

Add in some pain, mixed with a bit of contortionism and some elbows, knees, knuckles and other sharp bits and no muscle was neglected. They don't just rub the skin and muscle, they move and manipulate the whole muscle itself!

We paid about R100 for a full hour. You really can't believe the price of things. Deep fried Prawns: R35.

Pineapple on the beach: R7.50!!

All in all, it was a successful day and I can't say I am too sad about not being with the rest of our group on the tour today. Tee and I will be doing the tour on our own tomorrow and afterwards we will be joining the group for a Cabaret show- all She-Ladies. Think this will be fun!

Now its off to bed again- hopefully we wake up on time!

On to Thailand

After an early start this morning, the day seemed to be full of hurry up and waits.

Eventually we landed in Phuket and arrived at our hotel. The sun was shining when we arrived but soon turned into rain as we sat in the traffic jam on the windy road.

The town of Patong was our destination and we have been greeted by the really friendly Thai people and made to feel welcome.

Already dreaming about our first massage, we have just awoken from our mid afternoon nap and will go on to meet the rest of the Contiki group before we spend an evening together exploring the town.

Evening:-

Met our group- of the 30 of us there is 1 New Yorker, 2 Canadians and 3 New Zealanders. The rest are Ozzies.

We had our first dinner on the beach and it was awesome to have the sand sifting through your toes.

I had a delicious dinner of prawns cooked with mushrooms, spring onions and corn with a delicious sauce

The pineapple juice was just too delicious and they make good cocktails too.

Tomorrow we go on a speedboat tour to the famous island seen in a James Bond movie and I am looking forward to lying in the shade of a tree on the beach relaxing with a cocktail in a coconut or pineapple!

I plan on bringing plenty of sunblock and here's to hoping I don't get sunburnt!

The shops are small, and the Thai people are all very relaxed.

I love the fact that we can walk in the streets at night and not worry about being mugged or murdered.

Our tour guide is Ed, he is from Wales but with a mix of a heavy Ozzie accent! You can tell who he takes out on tours the most! :-)

Looking forward to getting an authentic Thai massage on the beach either tomorrow or the next day, but we will probably do it on Patong beach as the view will be amazing and we leave Patong, Phuket day after tomorrow, heading for Phi Phi. So it would be quite nice to have a massage in each place we're in.

Last day in Malaysia

As I write this on my last day in Malaysia I am currently undergoing a form of torture commonly known as Reflexology.

After walking up all those steps and walking most of Malaysia flat, our legs and feet have a taken a bit of a pounding.

I can't say reflexology is fun but I reckon we needed this!

Today we went on our final tour through the butterfly park filled with gorgeous varieties of butterflies flitting around- never sitting still for long enough for us to get a really nice photo.

With all the butterflies gaily flying past our heads, you can't help but want to twirl around and burst into song ala Disney Princess.

We also paid a visit to the Bird Park. Being the largest covered bird park in the world, it houses a host of birds: parrots, peacocks, Hornbills (Malaysia's national bird) etc

The heat put a bit of a strain on us today and the sweat was literally running in rivulets down our body.

A lovely Arab couple asked us to pose with them for a photo and I was pleasantly surprised that the lady lifted her veil for the photo.

A couple of waterfalls made the gardens very picturesque and Tharien avoiding falling on her bum.... 4 times!!

We had 30 minutes to explore the gorgeous orchid gardens (they are actually called the Hibiscus & Orchid gardens, but we never saw any Hibiscus plants- which are actually the national flower) I strongly suspect that we missed an entire section of the gardens, but by that time I think we were just exhausted from the heat and loss of water.

We came back to our hotel and promptly fell asleep to replenish our energy levels.

Our last night was spent eating sushi, with ice cream (not our usual donut tradition) for dessert.

We browsed by the huge, multi storied electronics mall and stocked up on another memory card for our camera as only a few days into our holiday we have used up almost all our memory capacity!

A quick visit to the pool refreshed us- for once we were actually cooled down! Thank you to the kind gentleman who allowed us 15 minutes in the pool after closing time had already passed.

Puppy dog eyes always work!

The Royale Bintang hotel has been a great hotel to stay at, with everything a traveller needs: WiFi access, a spa, a gym and a pool and extremely friendly staff who have helped us with everything we have needed.

I didn't expect to enjoy Malaysia as much as I have as it was merely supposed to be a stop over to Thailand, yet I have been thoroughly surprised!

The nightlife is infectious. The shops all stay open from 10am-10pm. With some establishments only closing after midnight.

The people mostly speak english, which has been a great help and overall have been very friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend stopping by for a visit as you won't be disappointed!

Malaysia Day 2

Took in a Malaysian cultural show tonight.

Was a nice mix of Malaysian, chinese and indian dancing. Its amazing how the cultures all live harmoniously and have embraced each others cultures.

Colourful costumes and traditional dancing made this a very enjoyable night!

The city is so pretty at night. Fairy lights hanging from the trees and fake blue and white trees- yet it works!

Dinner tonight was not as nice as the prawns and rice last night but nevertheless, it was good

The humidity here seems to make me hungry all the time! Perhaps all the walking has something to do with it? :-p

There is a donut shop here that has the most awesome donuts- light and fluffy with a variety of toppings. Everytime we buy 1 and eat it, we wish we’d bought another!

The coffee is not the best though- we finally went and bought ourselves a Starbucks because we both seem to be having coffee withdrawals!

While getting our Henna tattoo today a little boy came up to me and asked me for a photo. I smiled at him and then he hid away- probably took a lot of courage to ask me but when I looked again, he was gone. I wish I couldve found him again for the photo because that was so sweet of him to pluck up the courage!

Off to the Bird Gardens tomorrow and we’ll also get to see the orchid gardens and butterfly park. Should be a pretty day.

The travel diaries begin!

Hello everybody!
I am back from my travels! I am browner (marginally) have puffier hair (extremely) a case of pimples (humidity will do that to you) and an oversized tummy due to the amount of food I ate while away.

I kept a travelogue (sometimes very vague due to exhaustion) but could not seem to get it updated to Blogger, so here are the posts I wrote - hope you have fun with me on my travels and I hope you don't get tired of hearing all about my trip!

Day 2 in Malaysia and we have gone from not having any sleep- to oversleeping this morning.

From not having any money from the ATM to swiping our credit card gleefully at a pewter factory - a spending frenzy.

To be fair: how often are you going to come across an original handmade, airtight pewter container? My point exactly!

This container has 4 sides, each depicting a different flower. These flowers are represented in Chinese Art & literature as the 4 qualities believed to be traits of a gentlemen or scholar:
Chrysanthemum:- Personifies simplicity, honesty & perfection.
Bamboo:- Resilience & Humility
Orchid:- Perfect cultured individual due to the orchids beauty & fragrance
Plum Blossom: Perserverance, courage & willpower

This is something I will be able to pass on to future generations & I am so glad I bought it!

This pewter factory is one of the largest factories in the world and all the pewter items are handmade. The craftmanship is exquisite - we all had a go and it was not as easy as you wuld think.
Each worker gets their andprint on the walls of the museum once they have been there for 5 years - which I thought was a nice touch.

For Tee’s birthday I bought her a gorgeous set of chopstick holders- 2 pewter fishes. Lovely in their detailed prettiness.

We visited the Batu caves (after a 272 stp climb) and snapped some shots of the various gods.

We also got ourselves gorgeous Henna tattoos.

Tonight is a cultural tour of Malaysia and a visit to another temple.

The city is not very pretty, but the sights out of town are beautiful.

And I am off!

The day has finally arrived!

After 3 consecutive nights of 1am bedtimes, I must tell you I am more than ready to go on this trip!

A disastrous manicure, my teeth not being completed and the fact that after all the gym I only lost 2kgs are all the more reason for me to have a kick-ass holiday!

I will be boring you with hundreds of photos when I am back!

And I will have a cocktail for each of you!!

My Place... one day

Lately all I have been obsessing about it my place. And making it nicer.

After I bought my gorgeous couch, I was content - but now I want more!

I would like to get rid of the wall unit I have because,

I have had it like, forever
I hate it
It's old
It takes up too much space
It's a bugger to move

The 1 advantage is that it stores so much!

I would like to get rid of the clutter and go for a more minimalistic look in my lounge.

I used to watch 1 program a week on TV (Survivor or Amazing Race as they used to alternate) and now that Survivor/Amazing Race has been replaced with a rubbish local production, I don't watch TV at all, but I want a Flatscreen TV.
Why? Because everyone else has one & I want 1 too!

Usually I am not like this, but with the TV issue, I am not sure why it is bothering me so much!

I keep thinking about how that money could go towards somthing so much more worthy!

Anyway - Here is my wishlist for my house in a world where money means nothing:

Thailand is so close I can taste the tropical air with a hint of Strawberry Daquiri!

Only 14 more sleeps & our Asian adventure begins!

I have been obsessing over how little I can get away with packing to ensure I have the lightest suitcase ever! (I used my trip to Clarens as a practice run and all i had left out were socks and a long pair of jeans)

Being in hot humid Asia I still plan to have a long sleeve top, but I doubt a jacket is needed.

A pair of closed shoes should I need to walk a lot

A pair of slip slops that are plastic, which makes them easy to clean and give good grip on slippery surfaces

1 pretty dress for dinner out at night

1 pretty top to alternate with dress - can team it up with a pair of cropped jeans and closed shoes

1 sleeved Tee to protect my shoulders at Midday

2 summer tops & 2 summer dresses

3 Sarongs (can be doubled up as skirts and are lightweight & dont take up much space!)

The key will be accessories and mix n matching the items.

In my toiletry I have everything in miniature:

Shampoo and conditioner

Face wash, toner and moisturiser

Toothpaste (alas my toothbrush is adult size)

I am super excited! I need this holiday like an Italian mob boss needs his Mama!

I am a romantic - a hopeless one!

Recently a young lad has taken an interest in me - he is 23 years old & we all know that I have a penchant for them young 'uns!

As Tee said: "You're like catnip to the young boys!"

I just had to laugh at that!!

So MrM sent me a poem the other day - yes, he wrote a poem for me!

Tell me this doesn't make you go Awww....

The day was long and work had been a nightmare,
It had been so dismal and it all seemed unfair.
I got home and decided to go workout,
Not knowing that fate was lingering about.
I had been having a rough day and my outlook was severely dim,
But all that changed for the better when I bumped into you at gym.
Never have I met a woman so unique,
Seeing you after you had trained your sexy physique.
I asked you for your BBM which is strange because I am shy,
I never make a move on a lady, never even given it a try.
But I decided to go for it as if I was on a dare,
For you see Flirty*, seeing you again had me walking on air.
Looking into those shining, bright, lucid eyes,
Began to clear my personal cloudy skies.
Alhough in the crowded gym, I got lost in this world,
Standing there with you my reality uncurled.
I heard nothing else at that moment but your gentle soft voice,
I was completely lost and couldn’t escape, I had no choice.
It was mesmerising to be with someone that I had once knew,
Especially in particular when that someone turned out to be you.

I used to be too shy to talk to you but now I battle to go without a day,
Whenever I say goodnight my heart sinks knowing that you’re going away.
I feel comfortable chatting to you with whatever is on my mind,
I lose myself and lose track of time.
That last never rhymed, no matter, so what?
You know this is a poem and have an idea of its plot.
I was undecided on writing a poem for someone who I had never before,
Do I make it funny or romantic, something to leave you begging for more?
Now this poem was not put together all in one night,
Every time I thought of a line, I put it in if it felt right.

I write poetry which I am glad in you I entrusted this to,
Because ever since you knew,
Inspiration for poetry came flowing from you,
Putting my feelings on paper, something I never do.

If feeling were water I would give you a sea,
Truthful and honest to you, forever I will be.
If feelings were light I would fetch you a star,
Whenever I see you my smile is never far.
If feelings had to be given I would give you every grain of sand,
Just so you could know the sheer size of them would not fit in your hand.
If feelings had to be described there would not be much I could do,
Because there is no way to describe someone as special as you.

I live each day as if it is my last,
But suddenly I find myself hoping life doesn’t go too fast.

My weekend away to Clarens...

... Just what the doctor ordered.

Clarens is a lovely smal town situated in the Free State - about a 4 hour drive from home.

It is a quaint little town filled with the most gorgeous antique stores (real antiques, not junk) and home made goods.

3 days away from my life is just what I needed. I have been having heart palpitations and terrible chest pains, so I have been ordered not to exercise & on Tuesday I am undergoing an ECG Stress test to see what the matter is - I can tell you now that it is the ~~bitch~~ woman I work with who is driving me insane.

More importantly, I cannot exercise and I have only 23 days til Thailand!

Anyway, I digress...

We stayed in a cozy guesthouse called Periwinkle Blue - Just too pretty with lots of little details that made it special.

Don't you just hate it when you type a really witty piece and when you try to post it suddenly disappears and wasn't even saved in drafts? Urgh!

So this is my 2nd attempt & I don't think it will be as good as all my inspiration leaves as soon as I put it all down!

I watched Friends with Benefits yesterday and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

2 friends decide that they need sex without complications & turn to each other because they are confident that neither will get emotionally involved.
And in true Rom-Com style, they develop feelings for one another.

I have never been a fan of ~~trousersnake~~ Justin Timberlake, but this movie made me re-evaluate my opinion.

He is natural, funny & very sexy.

His body is looking very buff & I noticed how gorgeous his mouth is.

Mila Kunis is absolutely stunning as well. I would kill to look like her!

The movie has some steamy scenes but with a comedic twist which I loved. There are even some really "sweet" scenes that make you want your very own JT!

You cannot afford to miss this movie, especially if you want to see alot of JT butt!

Woody Harrelson is also hilarious as the gay sport writer.

Feeling very low today.

Most of my clothes don't fit and despite all my exercising, healthy eating and detoxing, I have lost 1 kg since starting gym at the end of July.

I am now including Multivitamins in my daily routine and let's see if this helps.

I was on such a high yesterday after receiving my Thailand tickets and then I realised that I am still going to look like a beached whale on the beach and I won't be able to wear any of the cute clothes that are perfect for the beach holiday I have dreamed about for years.

I just feel like giving up.

Maybe it is time to go to a doctor and test my thyroid? I just don't want to be one of those people that blames everything else for the reason I can't lose weight.

Does it take this long? Seriously?

With only 1 month to go I am becoming super excited. (Even if I have only shed 1 whole kilogram)

My gym routine has been constant and I have been so good.
1kg is very demotivationg and I have been at it for 2 months now.

I have 4 swimsuits and only 1 barely still fits. Dammit.

My brother has now forbidden me to drink as he says that the alcohol affects your metabolism negatively. I didn't think it would be this hard to give it up. I do love me a glass of a good merlot.

I have been preparing for the trip in other ways too.

Pretty nails and bikini waxes forming part of it.

I better shed a whole bunch of weight this last month!

I must admit, I am feeling better and my muscle tone is improving.

I am really looking forward to the break away from work as well as sharing Tee's birthday with her. She is my best friend & I just couldn't think of any better person to share this trip with!

De-Fuzzing & other girly horrors

These past few months with me having no man in my life or even on the distant horizon, I have been pretty lax about waxing and plucking etc.

What is the point of going through the pain and the expense of a wax and there is nobody to appreciate it?

The other day I decided to do something about it, because I am really not a fan of lots of hair (except on my head where it should be)
So I go to a new salon and book the appointment.

Have I been out of it that long?

Wherever I have been it's always referred to as Full Brazillian - removal of ALL hair (also known as the Hollywood) or a normal Brazillian which leaves a small patch of hair (landing strip)

So in I innocently walk and ask for a "brazillian" (Heaven knows why I felt like subjecting myself to this god-awful pain)

I lie down and start chattering away to the lady (I feel very uncomfortable doing this and tend to talk to mask my nerves)

I was not concentrating at all until I felt half my hair disappear with one savage tug. It was then I realised that she was Removing. It. All.

Turns out that it was a good thing I did it.

That night I got lucky with Iron Man.

On my last night at Sun City, Iron Man asked me to stay the night with him instead of going home.

I was so tempted to as it would have been wonderful to wake up in his arms and there is nothing quite as nice as action first thing in the morning when you are still warm from sleeping.

As luck would have it, my period started and even though he was really understanding and asked me to stay with him anyway and cuddle, I left.

Besides, how on earth would I explain this to my work colleagues?

Sometime it really sucks to be a woman!

The Parlotones

The Parlotones are an extremely popular South African band who are in the process of taking Europe by storm.

They have travelled to Germany a few times & they were the first SA band to have their own show at our local event venue - The Dome.

Usually only international artists appear here.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting the band members just before a show.

What a great bunch of guys! Down to earth and really nice.

Humble, soft-spoken and cute!

The drummer even brought me a coldrink!

Finally some action!

It has been a very long dry spell for me in the action department.

I am pleased to announce that it has been broken. (WOO HOO!!)

Iron Man and I have known each other through work for about a year. He is a supplier of ours. SSSSHHH! Don't tell anybody, or I may have to kill you.

He has always had an interest in me, and I only know this because he made a comment to a colleague that he thinks I have a hot body and better cleavage.

When I travelled to Cologne in March, he was also there and I spent time with him and we became better friends.
He is 28, so we have very similar interests.

Anyway, long story short. Another trip to SA and this time I gave in to his flirting and spent the night with him just before a big congress we had at Sun City.

Holy crap - he is amazing in bed! Super attentive and I like a man who takes control.

At Sun City I snuck away to his room a few nights for some fun and I suppose the fact that nobody else knows, makes it more delicious.

I have been going to the gym and those nights I worked muscles that the gym does not even touch!

Some of the reasons I loved being with him:

He plays footsie footsie with me at dinner
He sends me sexy, flirty and sweet messages
He BBMs me to tell me I am Hot, even though he is sitting right across from me
He bought 10 Tequila shots so that he could get me a cute cowboy hat because he thought I would like it (I loved it)
He kept me warm at a show while it was freezing cold.
He loves my butt
He sends me a kiss on BBM every morning.
He asked me so sweetly to cuddle up to him and stay the night with him
He put a funny half naked photo of himself as my screensaver on my phone when I wasn't looking
We play a fun game every day where we have t guess what colour underwear the other is wearing - if we get it wrong, we send a pic in our underwear, If we get it right, we get a pic with no underwear on.
To date, we have yet to be right! But I have a blast receiving all his photos and taking sexy pics for him too.
We have a code-name for sex: Ice-Cream This way we can throw it into casual conversation and no-one will have any idea what we are talking about, "I feel like some ice-cream" or: "Wow, I really do love ice-cream!" ha ha ha!
One of my sweetest memories: He told me I am Lovely while kissing his way down my body. For some reason that simple little comment really touched me.
2nd favourite memory: 1 night we were out at a "club" and he leaned over and gave me a gentle kiss on my shoulder.
My pulse starts racing even now when I think of that tender, sexy gesture.

At the end of the day though, it wasn't just about sex.
I seem to have developed a soft spot for him.
I enjoy being with him, he makes me feel really sexy & I love being folded in his arms when he hugs me. I love that I have seen the softer side of him and I really wish that I had been able to spend a whole night in his arms.

And I really miss him.

He makes me feel like a woman, and I am really glad that he was the one who broke the dry spell, it was worth the wait.....
He has now gone back home... I only get to see him in November again. It's gonna be a long few months!

Pity about the 1 little ... complication

Ever since I can remember I have never been happy with my teeth.

They are too yellow and the front teeth are too big.

I grind my teeth and as a result i have caused holed behind my front teeth and the teeth are chipping and wearing away.

I hate smiling or laughing and seeing myself in photos because my teeth are so yellow.

Finally today I have decided to try do something about it.

I am going to be a test subject for a brand new dental product and I hope that I am a suitable candidate for the product.

I went for an evaluation today and I must now wait to hear the results.

The consultation was as usual for me a scary one. Every dentist I go to always tells me that there is something else wrong with my teeth and I never know what to believe.

Today this dentist actually showed me so nicely and for once what he said made sense.

Turns ou I should be getting braces to correct my lower bite as that is the cause of alot of the wear on my teeth.
At 32 can you see me wearing braces? I do not think so!
It wouldnt even be a plate or a line. It would be flat out railway tracks. No thanks

I have asked the dentists if he cannot rather just file my teeth down.

Results pending.

Hold thumbs for me, if I am a suitable candidate, I will have a pretty smile for the first time!

Next step: Bleaching. This is a long process that doesnt usually work for me, but I am determined to get it to work.

I have yet to see any results (in fact I have picked up weight & gained 4cm around my waist) but I do feel better and I can see an improvement in my muscle tone as well as my skin.
Why haven't I lost any weight or cms? That is a good question! I secretly suspect my body is in absolute shock!
It isnt used to exercising or eating so much healthy vegetables and fruit!
My brother is a qualified Body For Life trainer & he is telling me not to worry, so I am not (yet)
We'll re-evaluate in a month and see what the results are then.
I take my iPod touch with me everyday & I must say; I don't think I would have been able to do 40 minutes cardio a day without my music.

Since discovering Gossip Girl (yes I am a bit late - purely because I never thought it would be my thing) I have fallen in lust with Mr Nate Archibald. He is sexy and I adore his eyes and his voice... he can whisper sweet nothings to me anyday!

I am only on Season 3, but I am really hoping that we get to see a it more of Nate's character develop. I love his friendship with Dan and I love the way he fits in equally as well in the loft as he does at a fancy dinner dressed in a tux. Nate seems to be a genuine "good guy" with a naughty sense of humour (just the kind I like)

Watch out for Mr Chace Crawford - look what's in store.....

He was scheduled to play the lead in the remake of Footloose but dropped out. Zac Efron was also tied to the project at one point before dropping out as well. My boys do have something in common besides the sexy hair & gorgeous blue eyes.
A romantic comedy Responsible Adults - starts filming this year. Chase plays opposite Katie Holmes. Shooting is expected to start in the fall in Los Angeles.

The House Gun - Chase signed to play a lead role of South African man accused of murder in a new independent film based on a novel by South African author Nadine Gordimer. The movie will also star Pierce Brosnan.
Chase will star along with Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez in What to Expect When You're Expecting - release planned for May 11, 2012.

Why so quiet? I hear you ask

Yes, I have done something I always said I would never do: Joined the Gym

Yep, you heard right

Recently I have been putting on weight at an alarmingly rapid rate and I have actually been behaving myself in the food department. (think all the toasted sandwiches have caught up to my hips)
With Thailand less than 100 days away (happy dance!!) and a gorgeous black dress waiting to wrap itself around my body without splitting at the seams, I decided that drastic action was called for.

So I am sharing with you all and putting it out there.

This way I cannot back out because then it is your job to ~~point and laugh~~ scold me for being such a failure!

So here are the embarrassing stats:

Weight: ..... erm..... deep breathe..... 76kg / 167.2 lbs ...too small to read? too bad! :-D
Bust: 100cm
Waist: 79cm
Hips: 103cm

My goal is to lose 16kgs / 35.2 lbs, but I am aiming for at least 10kgs / 22 lbs in time for Thailand.

In 1 month I will give you the results again.

I am trying to do this healthily and not deprive myself of too much. I still drink sugar and milk in my coffee, but I try to drink less.
I try not to eat fatty or high carb foods either. This is supposed to be a lifestyle change to hopefully become a habit.

Wish me luck... I really do need it!!

For the love of God, pull your head out, man! If you have to slap a moronicmessage on a maxi pad, wouldn't it make more sense to say something that's actually pertinent, like 'Put down the Hammer' or 'Vehicular Manslaughter is Wrong'.

Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that, effective immediately, there will be an $8 drop in monthly profits, for I have chosen to take my maxi-pad business elsewhere. Tee & I have been friends for a couple of years now - having met through my original blog (which wasn't a secret blog)

As a way to cheer my friend up after being dumped over Blackberry Messenger (yes really) I promised my friend M that I would cook for him. From Scratch.

I am single woman - a social butterfly. I do not cook from scratch - what is the point? Woolworths' (Marks & Spencer) livelihood depends on us single people to support them.

They do a lovely array of steam dishes that take a whole 2 minutes to heat. Chicken, veggies... you name it. They have pre-packed soup and vegetable mixes, all you need is a pot and voila!

But being dumped calls for some good ol' fashioned cooking.

Now I can cook a mean roast chicken if I do say so myself, so I decided to try something a bit different.
Our local supermarket stocks a Roasting bag complete with spices, so I decided to give it a try.

Lemon & Italian Herbs. Chicken goes into bag, bag securely tied.

Shake bag to evenly coat chicken .... not such a good idea

The bag tore, chicken bounced onto the counter coating my Blackberry in spices.

Plan B: Cook in tin foil.

Worked out well in the end - M was impressed & after dinner we looked through old school albums and reminisced about the past.
Got to bed at 4am - who knew I still had it in me!?

Brother's wedding:

Wedding plans are coming along nicely. Phoographer is booked, invites are designed.

Dresses have arrived (eeek!) I hope mine will fit me - I am delaying the collection so that I am not disappointed.

Wonder if I will pull off the safety pin look a la Liz Hurley? ha ha ha!

Trip to Thailand:

I have sacrificed alot to be able to pay off some of the credit card debt I have incurred to pay for this trip - not the right way, I know but this my reasoning: - I need to fit into a bikini because chubby wubby me aint gonna be wearing no bikini looking like this.

By having to save money, I have less to spend on food, therefore eating less, losing weight (see where I am going with this?)

Plus I get to spend some fun time with Tee - we are gonna have a blast!

I have met a few decent guys in the past from Internet Dating, no Soulmates as yet - but you never know I guess.

Recently I have realised how slim my chances of meeting new people really is.

Everybody is meeting people and I am in the office working.

I considered putting it out there & getting back onto the dating site. After reading a few profiles, I began to lose hope.

I enjoy long walks on the beach (but he lives in Jhb)

I look for the profiles written from the heart, not what they think us women want to read.

Then I came across this one and he made me smile:

I'm a sporty outdoors type of guy and fun to be around. I am a Cancerian so am in control of my emotions and can be quite kind and loving (and hopefully looking for someone who feels the same).
The special people in my life are by far my biggest priority and I'll go to the ends of the earth for them. I'm quite happy with my life but looking for someone special who is fun and loving. But also to expand the circle of friends cause that really is true wealth. I get a long with most kinds of people cause I honestly always see the best in all people... imagine that ;)

I like to cook but need a good taster. I'm patient except with taxis, active except on rainy days, funny if you like to laugh, serious if you didn't get the joke, intelligent and caring.

I also managed to make it through grade 1, therefore, I can spelle, make nice sintince, tork luk ah Joburga, and I can nearly tie my own shoe laces, but I'm no good at long division :p
But I'm pretty sure my parents brought me up properly with good morals, principals and respect, which you don't find too often anymore.

I watched this movie for the 1st time the other night & loved it.
I have never read a single book of Jane Austen's. I have tried a few times, but got bored.

After watching the movie, they have inspired me to try again.Jane Austen can't be 1 of the authors to read & be bad... Perhaps I just need to try harder.

I am being extremely optimistic, as it took me over 2 weeks to read the last book on account of me not having a life anymore, aka working all the time but I am going to attempt Emma.

Thanks to Wikipedia, here is a short idea of the book:

Emma is a novel about the perils of misconstrued romance. The novel was first published in December 1815. As in her other novels, Austen explores the concerns and difficulties of genteel women living in Georgian-Regency England; she also creates a lively 'comedy of manners' among her characters.

Before she began the novel, Austen wrote, "I am going to take a heroine whom no one but myself will much like."

In the very first sentence she introduces the title character as "Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and rich." I'm out the other night at Buddha Ta having one of their famous Candy Mojitos when a cute guy at the bar saunters over.
"that's an interesting drink" he says, "may I smell it?"
I start laughing and tell him that's the 1st time Ive heard that one, have a taste!
We get to talking & he is a confident, sexy, funny guy.
While he is giving me some of his background I am ~~perving over all his muscles~~ listening attentively & I am thinking to myself:

This is what flirting is like - I vaguely remember this feeling....

He asked my age where I gave the appropriate wide eyed look and he laughed and said, Don't worry, I can tell you are a gorgeous 21 year old. Charmer.
I got it on the nose by guessing that he was 27.

It was a friends birthday and after some more flirting & _ cute hand grabbing to emphasise his point - they moved on to the next place. He asked us to join them, but it being a work night & me having flu, I had no intention of seeing him there.

I waved goodbye and later (and even now) I could have kicked myself for letting him go without getting his number or his surname (for Facebook stalking) {facepalm}

One of my Bucket List items is to write a novel.

And here is my opportunity!

November is: National Novel Writing Month

We have exactly 1 month (starting on 1 November) to write a 50 000 (yes, that is Fifty Thousand) word novel.*
Which means you write on the fly - no thinking, no editting (there really isn't time for perfection - which is why this is just up my alley)

It sounds like fun & a great challenge & this is the advice we were given upon sign up:

1) It's okay to not know what you're doing. Really. You've read a lot of novels, so you're completely up to the challenge of writing one. If you feel more comfortable outlining your story ahead of time, do it! But it's also fine to just wing it. Write every day, and a book-worthy story will appear, even if you're not sure what that story might be right now.
2) Do not edit as you go. Editing is for December and beyond. Think of November as an experiment in pure output. Even if it's hard at first, leave ugly prose and poorly written passages on the page to be cleaned up later. Your inner editor will be very grumpy about this, but your inner editor is a nitpicky jerk who foolishly believes that it is possible to write a brilliant first draft if you write it slowly enough. It isn't. Every book you've ever loved started out as a beautifully flawed first draft. In November, embrace imperfection and see where it takes you.
3) Tell everyone you know that you're writing a novel in November. This will pay big dividends in Week Two, when the only thing keeping you from quitting is the fear of looking pathetic in front of all the people who've had to hear about your novel for the past month. Seriously. Email them now about your awesome new book. The looming specter of personal humiliation is a very reliable muse.
3.5) There will be times you'll want to quit during November. This is okay. Everyone who wins NaNoWriMo wanted to quit at some point in November. Stick it out. See it through. Week Two can be hard. Week Three is much better. Week Four will make you want to yodel. And we're talking the good kind of yodeling here.

I am sure many of you have always wanted to write a novel, so don't leave me to do this on my own!

I cannot wait - Tee & I leave on 25 October.

We make a 4 day stopover in Malaysia & then we are off to Phuket, Phi-Phi Islands & Krabi with the help of Contiki.

We are back in Jhb on 8 November.

I cannot wait - this is a well needed break (& another bucket list dream that I get to realise)

Although who knows what on earth I was thinking when I booked a holiday to a beach destination when I can hear my bikini shrieking in fear at the thought of having the impossible task of making me look presentable.

Guess I should get my mind right & start losing weight.....

~~Hot sexy men~~ Sangria is my weakness.

I have always been a cheap date & I love my sangria.

I find that when I am tired or run down or really stressed that alcohol affects me quicker.

Cue the other night. I was really on my ear when my friend M BBM'd me.

I don't recall too much of the conversation & immediately fell asleep after saying good night.

He tells me the other day that I had him laughing so hard he almost pee'd himself.

I recalled the history of the conversation:

M: Hey there - how you? Still working so hard?

Me: Hi! Still working like a dog - perhaps that is why I am a bitch?

M: You are not a bitch - stubborn tho! (he is correct)

Me: And drunk!

M: You gonna have a hangover on a work day...

Me: Nope. I get drunk, not hungover - I am a cheap date

M: Drunk on a Tuesday night - shame on you!

Me: Its been a hard days night - and I been working like a dog...

M: You type too fast - even for a drunk person. Get some sleep I will chat to you tomorrow.

Me: I can't sleep, my head is spinning

M: Right round baby right round like a... I cant remember the words

Me: Record baby right round

Yeah I like music & songs & sangria! :-p

.... the joy of more episodes of Vampire Diaries & I am even more in love with Damon, Elena, Jeremy, Stefan and the rest of the cast (except Bonnie)

Oh no, not MORE rambling about Vampire Diaries!

Too bad! My pounding heart & vicious hormones are drowning out the sounds of complaint - I just can't get enough of them - I mean, look at these boys:

I envy Damon & Stefan's intense love for Elena.
I want my very own Damon / Stefan or both.

I want a man to look at me with smouldering passion, intense love & heartswelling tenderness.
I want a man to wrap his arms around me & ~~sink his teeth into~~ kiss my neck.

I also want my man to have a sexy stomach (my weakness) and strong arms (he will need this should "chunky me" ever swoon at his feet & need his assistance to get back up & later to carry me over the threshold!)

If it hadn't been for the fact that I had been crying the day that Ian Somerhalder was at Sandton - 15minutes drive from me, I would have ditched my class and gone to ~~stalk~~ meet him.

The scriptwriters are brilliant - although I am not sure how much more suspense & twists & turns (& deaths) I can take!

Yes - that is me at the moment - hardly time to take a breather!

This past weekend went by in a blur, but it was so much fun!
I drove from the one end of town to the other & made some exciting plans (all will beexpanded upon in future posts)

The problem is that I am working so much that I feel guilty for neglecting my friendships, so the weekend is the only time I get to catch up with them!

I love my friends - but I do not have time for whinging & negativity - something I have picked up about myself as I get older - I cannot tolerate negativity.
I want to surround myself with laughter and fun.

I need to re-evaluate some of these friendships.....

Speaking of socialising - I am dying to host a party - and I mentioned on Twitter the other day that I wish we had more bloggers in Jhb (I follow alot of overseas ladies and most of my favourite bloggers are based in the Cape)
But I would love to have a masked party and invite all the Bloggers to attend and we could have fun guessing who everybody was!

When are you guys coming to Jhb?
